i bought my SYE (at a great price from seriousoffroad ) for the reason that i might need it at 3.5 and that i will deff need it in the future since i plan on going taller later on...would i be able to install my SYE before the lift to get it out of the way? will a stock front DS fit in the rear with no lift??

It should, but it'll be pretty well pushed in. I would seriously suggest putting the lift and SYE on at the same time.
To not get vibes with the SYE, you have to shim the pinion so its pointed directly at the TC. When you lift, this angle will change and you will have to purchase/install different shims/centerpins. Why do this twice and throw away extra parts?

Id say youll be working at least 12 hrs.
With 3 of us it took from 8 am to about 7pm to put my lift on..
But it did require extensive welding..and we stopped to paint parts...and drink beer.
