any budget lifts?
I'd like to lift my 96 Cherokee, But I don't really want to go out and buy a lift kit, I'd like to had a budget lifts, Something that will fit 33s and get me on the trial.

If you look in the oem cherokee page there is a sticky at the top that says what junk yard parts will fit on a cherokee. Try reading through that. It lists some suspension parts from other vehicles that can be used on an xj to get cheap lifts of various heights.

There really isn't a way around new lower control arms. You can get away with a 3" lift and cutting the hell out of the fenders for 33's but much over that and you are going to hating the stock control arms.

If you are interested in doing a budget lift, junkyard style, I can help. in addition to that, since I just did mine, I have a full set of leaf springs here that you can have, making the bastard pack really quite easy, and I live in Indiana, Pa.
