(Another) Coil Springs Questions
Hello, I want to replace my front coils springs and do a basic lift. This will be a basic 2'' inch mainly because my jeep is a 2wd. Im looking Moog coils but i see some measurements that im not familiar with so i need some tech advise. Which of these 3 will give me the desire lift. Im thinking the CC782 but im not sure. Also Im gonna replace the leaf springs with Heavy Duty (7" Arch) this with new leaf bushings and coil isolators will give 2inch? Thanks
This is the Moog coil springs info
Spring#/Inside Dia/Bar Dia/Inst Height/Load Rate(lbs)/Spring Rate(lbs)/Free Height
CC778 / 4.04 / 0.53 / 15 / 339 / 126.5 / 17.7
CC780 / 4.04 / 0.53 / 15 / 388 / 125.5 / 18.22
CC782 / 4.04 / 0.58 / 15 / 503 / 146 / 18.4

The CC782 would next the highest lift but you probably wouldn't see 2" out of them....
You should look up the part# for the V8 grand cherokees. It must be a V8 and has to be the older version..so anytyhing before 1999.
These give you roughly 1-2" of lift because they support a V8 normally which is heavier.
Get the part numbers for the V8 springs and spec like you did for these springs and I'll help ya out lol!
I would do a v8 spring and new isolators upfront.

Thanks for you reply kamaran, the part cc782 is listed for both models Xj and Zj v8 '97 thats what confuse me. Considering the bar dia is beefy and the free height is longer and definitely with new isolators this could give me some lift? Im not planning to get any heavy bumper.

Ya you'll end up with some more lift..but the question is how much!
I would get those springs and stack isolators. So get those springs..you a new isolator & your old one. Its perfectly safe to do and you'll get an extra 1/2" that way!
If the rear sits to low after you replace the leafs then buy an MJ shackle..they are good for 3/4" of lift

I don't think its luck at all! I've had a used pair on my jeep and got the same 2" that I had with my HD coils. So yes they do work..even used!

Confusion about the Moogs
Hey guys -
Did you end up installing the Moogs? I have to replace my coil springs (sagging after 250k miles) and I want to do an OEM replacement, largely because I don't want to have to think about replacing other parts or front vs. rear, etc. So I'm going stock and I think the Moog CC782 is OEM but Heavy Duty, meaning that I won't get lift above stock (though I'll feel lifted in comparison to where I am now.)
Does that sound right? I'm concerned about your talk about a 2" lift. If you did get a 2" lift, did you need to replace other parts to match? Like the sway bar link, for example.
I want to replace the sway bar link with this OEM replacement:
Is there any problem using that replacement sway bar link with the Moog 782 heavy duty coils?
Also, did you have to purchase new Coil Spring insulators?
Thanks!
