Default Another aftermarket lighting question

I've looked everywhere and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. I want aftermarket fogs for my JCR bumper, but I want to use ALL the factory harness/switch to wire some lights. I want to know if it's possible to remove the connector from the OE equipped fog lamps, and attach it to after market KC lights. Before I get bashed for asking this, I plan to buy 55w halogens, so the wattage won't changed, so it SHOULDN'T result in any relay/ switch problems or overload of the electrical. I'm big on keeping my OE dash configuration and want to utilize the stock option. Any help from someone with experience would be greatly appreciated!

To be clear, you don't have the factory ones still mounted, and its just the wiring ends? where the factory fogs used to be?

The factory fogs are mounted and functional. I just want to replace the lamps with after market and put the factory connector, from the original lamps, onto aftermarket lights. I haven't checked to see if I can just unplug the pigtails and plug the aftermarket pigtails into the stock connector.

I want to cut the connector off of this, and put it on aftermarket lights.

The stock fog lights are 55W so you can only wire 55W lights to the factory switch and wiring unless you change the fog light relay to a higher rated one to match your lights.

And most of the KC's are around 110W (you can find the 55W ones out there).

I'm wanting to take my Dayliters off my JCR bumper to pave the way for some LED lights.

I wouldn't run anything but 55w lights on the factory wiring. You can still use your factory switch though and make or buy an new upgraded wiring harness to handle higher wattage lights.

That was my first choice but being a cherokee, I couldn't find them. KC makes all sorts of aftermarket lights meant for JK's and Liberties and Wanglers. I wonder if a wrangler plug of the same year would fit my XJ?

Yeah JCWhitney carries some 55w KC fogs for 50$/light without the harness and switch kit.

Yes you can easily add the OEM connector to an aftermarket light. A few crimp terminals or a little soldering is all it takes.

A few lights to consider:
KC HiLites, 3x5: Wide Beam Plstc 55w (ea)

KC HiLites, 2x6: Fog Plstc Clr 55W (ea)

As far as the limited number 55W lights available from KC, there are actually quite a few.....
All 55W KC's

I would also suggest you look at LED lights. They draw far less amperage and provide incredible light output.

I can still utilize the stock connectors switch and harness with LED lights?
