hey guys
This winter I decided im not gonna freeze every day so I'm going to be pulling my carpet, headliner, and all interior panels to insulate my interior
I ordered this last night:
http://www.foambymail.com/GR-_BLACK/...ber-black.html

Two 4x8 sheets of 1/8 inch for the doors, roof and behind trim and one 4x8 of 1/2 inch for the floor. It says great for auto insulating, water proof

Anybody ever try stuff like this before? I'll definitely update this once it comes in and I get it installed.

For $85 shipped free if it works it'll be one hell of a deal

Damn must get pretty cold for you to insulate the roof..
Had to sleep in my first xj for awhile up in Yosemite it was so cold in the morning like 18* I needed an ice scraper for the inside of the cab!

Happy trails

Last winter there were many many days below zero degrees here and they're saying this year it's going to be even worse. The roof will probably be the last thing depending on how much I use for everything else. Itll definitely help with wind noise too

The roof would actually be the first thing I'd do. That's the largest non insulated thin sheet metal section on the jeep. I did mine and it cut down on Lots of noise. Also did behind all my interior panels a foil backed peel&seal

Plus . . . you know . . . that whole "heat rises" thing. I'd think if you wanted to keep the heat in, you'd want to insulate the place it heads to first. Especially when that place just happens to be a large piece of material that conducts heat well.

I used AC duct insulation. It is a quarter inch adhesive foam with foil backing about and it took about one and a half rolls. It has only been a month but seems good.

Not yet, I did the roof when I re did my headliner and the rear cargo area. I will eventually do the floors, have to do some rust repair first. My lazy butt will only do the doors if I have to repair something in them.

lol those pesky door panels.

I'm hoping my floors are generally rust free. Ive never had the carpet up. Also hoping for a beautiful above freezing day in the next week so i can power wash the carpet.

very excited to dive in to this

I pulled my carpet to deal with floor pan hole, never did put it back, instead I used a piece of pad with weathertech mats. The heat from under the Jeep comes in now and keeps the floor warm, might be something to consider...I didnt plan this but my feet stay warm and toasty.

Oh and the floor is probably not rust free

I thought that too but with weathertech front and back you would never know I dont have carpet (I cut pcs for under the seats and console).
