With a 5.5" lift and a one inch transfer case drop might work to keep your rig from getting the death wobble or it might not. Originally Posted by TeXJas

You can chance it but if it does not work then you have committed yourself to installing a SYE or living with it (not a good idea) or parking it.
Oh, what Stryker said.

Hey guys,
I'm almost ready to buy my lift and I would like to get some opinions on this set up
http://www.fatbobsgarage.com/catalog...-1984-2001.htm
I plan to get this package with the long leaf option. All hardware I'll get from Napa.
To me it looks like a great deal for my needs ( light off roading and looks). My leafs and springs don't really seem to be sagging but for some reason my XJ leans slightly to the drivers side F and B. I hope this will level it out as well.
What do you guys think?

You will need new lower control arms, a t-case drop, and maybe brake line extensions at the least.Originally Posted by TJcherokee

I'm looking for some advise. Have a mostly stock 01, installed an leaf spring in the rear b/c of sagging and 3/4 space in the front. Just installed 255/70/16 tires on stock rims and am getting some rubbing on the passenger side lower control arm at full flex, its mostly annoying more than anything but don't want to damage the tire or arm. Should I just leave it, change the arm or install a budget lift like the 1.5" teraflex? Just looking at options, don't want to spend to much $ and live in a condo so it is hard to break out the tools and go to town on my jeep.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Its rubbing on the LCA at full flex? Are you sure its rubbing the LCA...ive never heard of the LCA getting in the way when flexing? you sure it's not just hitting your fenders? Originally Posted by NRM2008

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, i've just never heard of the LCA being rubbed....now i know it rubs on some rigs when turning, if to big of tires and to little of lift.

New to the forum. Just purchased and installed 3' RC lift with full rear spring pack on my 98 Cherokee, and thought I would toss out some issues we came across. First we measured stock height, from center line of the wheel to the bottom side for the wheel well Front 18" rear 17", after the lift 20 1/2 front and back. Ok now for the issues, start a week early and SOAK everything with PB or equal, also purchase new rear spring front main bolts, that way if you have to cut them you are ready for that. Also purchase new bolts for the front and rear shock bolts 5/16 x 1" worked for us. We did good only broke 1 rear shock bolt, just punched it out and fished a new one in place. The biggest obstacle you will face is rusted bolts. Make sure you have a good breaker bar, we needed to add the jack handle to get the main rear spring bolts out, then they only cleared the threads it was hung up in bushing, we ended up cutting the bolt. The biggest thing to remember everyone that has done a lift has to deal with these types of issues. Two guys 6 hrs not bad for a Saturday. Took it for "The Test Drive" you guessed it TC vibe bummer; Skyjacker TC drop installed no more vibe. Did not have to remove the stud on the Tc this kit allows that to be reused. I use this as a DD and am pleased with the lift kit.

I had the same issue with stock wheels. Look for an aftermarket set with different offset.Originally Posted by NRM2008

What kind of fuel mileage difference can I expect going from stock size tires to 31x10.50s with stock gears? I currently average about 18mpg per tank now.
