Does anyone have experience with 500 denier Cordura nylon? I'm thinking of using it as headliner material. I want something that's not going to rip like the stock headliner fabric.
I like the way you are thinking. We do a lot of kydex with Molle adapters at the knife shop. I think if you can do it you will have great additional overhead storage. Sewing Molle straps all over you could put anything on it. I agree I think it would be more durable. Also...who wouldn't want to do it. I may look into this idea. Since it would be unlimited in adjustability you could move stuff as needed. It would sure beat screwing something in place ( like a flashlight holder) just to decide you wanted to move it. Unlike Velcro... Molle is super strong when in place. Nice thread!

I don't think 500 will stretch and follow the headliner contours like headliner fabric, which is pulled, stretched, and bubbles rolled out after application of headliner foam/ tack adhesive. I work with 1000D and no way would it conform to headliner and probably it would drop due to the fabrics weight. Coated fabric may trap condensate under the roof and I'm not sure the tack adhesive wouldn't leach thru uncoated fabric. I'd try a small piece before buying a few yards cause fabric isn't cheap.

I think my first post was in this thread, so 1000 posts later here is all of my current MOLLE in one post. I also have acquired some steel cage material for my rear windows.

This thread is awesome, but Im weary of having a bunch of stuff thats easy to see inside my jeep after being broken into and all of my things stolen. Especially knives, flashlights and things that look like they could be valuable.

@ Tarenrack- Tinted windows seem to help with your worries. I've never had anything taken out of my XJ. Plus my MOLLE sun visors hide the cool stuff when not in use.
