Air lift bag in coil spring
No idea why anyone would put them in a modified lifted XJ. They help increase the weight a vehicle can carry, and make it more stable around corners...we have them in the front of our motorhome. But in a Jeep? No idea why they would be used.

You already have a factory bump stop inside that coil,Plus those being helper/lifting bags they wouldn't work as a bump stop and would just lift the front or make it ride rougher.

I believe what is being referred to is Prothane coil inserts. They act as progressive rate bumpstops. I have been experimenting and running them for years.

I have had great results for higher speed offroad driving, whoops and jumps. Any situation where suspension would regularly bottom out. Here on the beach we have miles of what I call camel humps, essentially large whoops. Each one can be jumped, one right after the other.
Front is matched to rear with progressive rate 4.5" bumps.
