Air flow mods on 96 XJ Country
Considering making air flow mods to my 96 XJ Country. Gibson header, Banks Monster exhaust, Eastern catalytic converter. Anyone use this combo? Am I missing anything? I have a K&N cold air intake on it now. Running lifted 4" and DuraTrac 31's.

I went the opposite way with a Banks header and Gibson exhaust. Both are reputable companies. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
The only thing more you could do is have your header ceramic coated. I had mine done at Swain. It costs a pretty penny, but I think it's worth it. |
I agree go with a Banks header much better quality. Then if you want to have it coated send it to Jet-Hot the best coatings of them all and the first in the country to do exhaust headers. I have been using them for years for my race car headers and Dr Gas X-Pipe setups.

:whistling2: Seriously, though, Swain is quite a bit thicker than Jet Hot. I don't know of anybody doing a better job. |
Could also add a bored throttle body to the list. 4-hole injectors and an ignition tune-up would pair well with all of that.

After reading a number of posts nobody seem really escatic about the results of these mods. Most admit that it made very little difference other than noise. Seems like a lot of $$ for little gains in whp and mpg.
