Default Advice on using a front shaft with my SYE/6" lift

Bought a 99 with an already installed lift. PO tells me it's 6.5. Front has longarms

Rear is a disaster. 3" leafs with non relocated aftermarket shackles and 2" lift blocks.

The Jeep has the stock rear driveshaft. The PO says no vibes, even on the highway. The brakes are too iffy for me to test that though so I plan to add the SYE I have (not a hack n tap) and use a front shaft in back.

Is this lift too tall to use a front shaft for the rear?

When I installed my SYE and increased my lift only to 4 1/2" I decided that after checking around to buy a custom Driveshaft for mine. I bought it from a Driveshaft shop on eBay here in the US of A for $199 + shipping $229 if I remember correctly. It came with the HD Spicer joints and received it in about a week after ordered on a Thur. received next Wed.

Just typed in driveshaft for an Cherokee in eBay search. The name is in my sig. of his shop if you want look him up.

It sounds like you have some work to do in the rear (I hate blocks) with your lift to make it safe. I did install shims on the rear differential also with mine along with the SYE. I would suggest you have the front driveshaft rebuilt if it hasn't already been done.

I have a bag of 6 Spicer U joints and clips ready to go for two front shafts. I was wondering if anyone had done this before I spend the time rebuilding one of them and find it's at full extension when installed.

$200 is dirtycheap for a new shaft. I'll look into it. My buddy works at Dana and offered to build me one but he's super slow with stuff like that. I need to get this driving reliably this month if possible
