I have a 1991 Cherokee that Im replacing the distributor on. When i pulled out the old one someone had cut off the flange that holds the distributor to the block and put a y shaped piece of metal in to hold it down. So essentialy now its adjustable. Why would someone do this. I do have a msd ignition in it but the tech line said the ignition has nothing to do with that but I didn't really trust him. The part looked like it was from a kit
