Hi new to the forums but I recently obtained a low mile 99 cherokee. Its a 2wd and an automatic but I still love it! Anyways I was wondering what I could do to make it more off road capable? I don't want to go trails just want it to be able to cruise dirt roads through light mud and such. I dont want to convert to 4wd just yet. Maybe down the road though

 

If its 2wd your only options are pretty much a locker for the rear and some good tires but look on here and google a 4 wd swap isnt that hard to do

 

im worried about the price of 4wd mainly. whats the deal with 8.8 ford axles? iv seen them mentioned on jeep discussions
