You can but if the vicious coupler in the t-case is the slightest bit worn it will roll when it's in park. That case uses both front and rear axles to help lock it up in park and with only one the other will be able to turn.

You can run without it but it will ruin the VC. I have been driving mine for almost a year without a front drive shaft and haven't had any problems with it rolling in park. I will be going to a 231 next month.
