97+ to 96- washer fliud tank swap
I'm trying to put one in my 98 from a 95 for the snorkel swap, and there doesn't look like there's enough room at all. Well actually there isn't the hood won't close. I'm thinking about cutting out some of hood bracing to make it fit. But I was wondering what over people did to make theirs fit?
Thanks,
Zack
Thanks,
Zack

Please, for the love of all things Jeep, do NOT do anything to your XJ with this until I post pics for you tomorrow. Clearly you do not understand what you need to do for the washer reservoir swap. It is very simple, but somehow you're missing the simplicity. I'm not trying to be a jerk to you, but I also want you to understand that you need to wait on this for another day so I can show you what you need to do step-by-step.

Oh and the only reason I was having problems before was I didn't see the install pictures that they had posted. I understand how to install it now, and what you do. I was confused before because I thought it was one of those that go in the back not the front.
I understand the tank park, it was a miscommunication on my part. All I don't get is how you got it to fit? Because mine sits about 3" too high.

Like i said, not tryin to be a jerk, just going off of your responses and questions fron the snorkle sale thread. Just seems like you're missing something and I'd rather not see you mess it up and have to redo it. Do me a favor, post a pic of the tank you got and where you're trying to mount it.

Here is a couple of pics of the one i grabbed from a 94. You can also see where i mounted it. It's a tight fit, but it works very well. The issue you may be having is the pumps. You need to rotate them so they stick out towards the engine as you can see in the last picture.

That isn't the same tank as mine. Close, but yours is narrower and taller, making it too tall to use. You can really see the difference in how much plastic is to the left of the fill hole.
Yours:
Mine:
Try finding one from a 93-94. You need one that is slightly wider and shorter than the one you have. Holds the same amount, just proportioned differently. It really is a tight fit, but it works beautifully.

no stupidity in there at all. Like I said before, I just wanted to make sure you didn't mess something up too bad. Most JY's will let you return whatever part(s) you bought if they're the wrong ones and you have a receipt.
