89 w/ open cooling upgrade..HOT still!
I picked up an 89 with an open cooling system already installed.. The thing still runs hot as heck, took it wheeling for the first time and overheated in 20 minutes tops? does anyone have any ideas?

could be a bad t-stat, might need flushing....is the gauge showing overheat or is it boiling over?....might just be a bad gauge or sender....worst case scenario is a head gasket or cracked head....let us know what you find

I have installed these Tarus fans on 3 SAR vehicle's and my cherokee and 87 chevy truck. Junk yard $35.00 to this forum's sale thread for $125.00.
It solved all my issues with heat. You may still need to flush and check your T-stat. I also always drill two 1/8 and some drill 3/16 in the stat plate to let air bleed thru.
Good luck.
