Default 89 front solid shaft conversion

Okay I'm sure its been covered but need some definitive answers since i can't find them! I have an 89 that still has the original D30 up front with the VAC disconnect. I have shafts out of a 92 non disco. I had to put one in the drivers side due to the PO's stupid inginuity (sarcasm). The other side obviously won't fit since it has the two piece shaft with the disconnect. I have read you can put one piece solid shafts in the passenger side with a couple seals and your on your way. But what is the downside to this? The upside being no more disconnect but what happens to everything when this is done? any help would be great thanks!

Nothing happens. It would make your axle exactly like a Dana 30 non disco axle.

Go for it.

FWIW when I switched mine over to a one piece I left the inner seal in place and bought a set of those outer seals. Works great, no leaks and way easier to change if there becomes some.

Just for future searchers, if you have the 207 case you need to either stick with the cad shafts, throw on manual hubs, or throw a 231 in.
