Default 8.8 ls no-slip install issue

Hi there I've got a no-slip for the 8.8ls and am having a little bit of a snag. When it comes to checking the go no go guage it doesn't pass. The instructions do not mention putting the side gear thrust washers back in and am wondering if this is indeed the correct way or should I put them in? If I put them in the go no go guage works out perfect. Just seeing if this is a typo or if I'm doing something wrong. I've tried calling but nothing but voice mail and no call backs. If you've got any input with this particular axle it would be awesome to have some insight. Thanks

I'm almost certain you have to use the washers with a No-slip. Even if you did'nt, the right amount of space would trump the question. Hopefully someone else will chime in who have installed the no-slips. I think Spartan is the only locker that doesn't require the washers.

On my Chevy's 10 bolt, it said to take out the washers but it says on some models it is required. I wouldn't hold it past them to include the wrong instructions in the box with all the change of ownership crap going on. They've had mine for 5 weeks now just to replace it

Managed to get through to richmond gear and the answer was that year to year the cases differ and on some you may need to use the side thrust washers to get proper clearances. Hope this helps someone down the road.
