Searching for this is not working so I'll just ask, has anyone swapped in a 6 speed from the newer Wranglers? If so, any reliability issues?

 

i'm saving up for this swap. i hear that they're good trannies, but every one has an opinion, you know?

i think if you figured out the CPS by either getting a kit that relocates the CPS to the harmonic balancer or drilling a hole in the NSG370's bellhousing then you could do it. I'm still not sure about the tranny mount, if you use the factory one with modifications or fab up a totally new one. Other than that, everything that i'm aware of seems to be the same.

Tranny mount and CPS or the only issues I was gonna put one in but i couldnt find one...maybe in a few years when my 3550 takes a dump

 

what did you figure you had to do with the tranny mount? just modify the stock one or what? how different are the trannies?

you have a 2000 with a 5 speed? dang man did you buy it from bigfoot or the loch ness monster? i looked and looked and looked for a 00 or an 01 and never found one. I had to settle for an auto :-/

how did you do the electronics? i'm pretty sure i have everything except for that figured out. did you do a manual ECU or just fool the auto ecu via the nss switch?

o yeah, how does the 5 speed work with the 242? i read somewhere that you'd get gear slop with it.
