Default 4" lift, 1" transfer drop, still vibrates

I lifted my XJ 4", dropped my transfer case 1" and it still vibrates, do i need a wedge for the springs?

Yep!! rear spring shims is exactly what you need. I believe about 6 degree shims and 1" TC drop is what came with my 4.5" Rusty's lift.

Or do it right and get s SYE and a a longer rear shaft.

That is, as long as you know all your u joints are good.

Yeah if the shims don't work then check out sye's and a rear cv driveshaft (or front driveshaft from another xj). This will fix your vibes for sure.

I installed a 3" Rough Country Series II lift and have had vibes since. I just recently put in about a 3/4" T-Case drop and now I'm getting vibes at my feet at highway speeds that is much more pronounced. Wasn't that bad before. Thinking my front U Joints are shot but, they don't seem to have any play in them. Any other ideas as to what to check?

Thanks for the help

there is NOTHING wrong with a tcase drop and shims... but a sye is the better route for sure (assuming you have the money)

I can think of at least one thing wrong with a TC drop , loss of ground clearance in the middle of you rig. Wait make that two things, it also puts more strain on your motor mounts. Damn it that means there are three things, it also makes your front driveshaft angle worse.

But for most part those things are better than a binding vibrating noisy rear shaft. And yes I have used them, but after getting hung up on my cross member time and time again I have finally swore them off.

I have a RE3.5 lift and tried the tc drop. Didn't work. Had to go with an SYE kit,Drive shaft and 6deg. shims then removed the tc drop. Perfect now.

Oh damn. Someone gets the idea.

Keep in mind, though, bad u joints can be made to feel worse when the lift goes higher. Maybe it could be just crappy u joints...how old are they?
