Default 4.7L stroker ?'s

Ok so I'm probably gonna rebuild my 4.0L to a 4.7L stroker motor. But I don't know of the stock tranny and ecu will be able to work well with the increased power and torque. Has anyone done this yet? And if so what did you do to handle the difference in power compared to stock.

check out the budget stroker on TRUCKS! (that show on powerblock)
here's the link actually. they did it to their "cheep cherokee" project. you'll probably have more questions but it's still a good video

many people run stock AW4s on stroker motors pushing decent numbers. just have a decent trans cooler to keep the temps low enough and it should last

you should have no problem with the trans that you are running, short of it being worn out. Mine works flawlessly

I agree definitely gonna add a trans Cooler. I was thinking about swapping the transmission with a newer 5 SPF auto since I mainly want to do rock crawling and dont want to be burning up clutches every weekend.

The factory ECU will work fine, people have been doing this for several years. The AW4 has been used behind motors making more power than the typical 4.7 stroker. Use a good trans cooler.

4.9L w/AW4 just add a good transmission cooler.
