Default 4.56 gear ratio and Aussie locker

So I am in the process of adding in my 4.56 gear ratio to my rear axle (Dana 35) and was curious when i get my aussie locker if i should add it to the rear axle or the front axle?

Thanks

The turdy five will blow up with a locker in it. So I say front. It's a shame you are putting money into a 35 though. Plus with a locker in the front you won't notice it unless you are in 4wd.

^^^^^ What he said ^^^^^^

Also I would swap out the Dana 35 for a Chrylser 8.25 or Ford 8.8 or Dana 44 if you can find one before investing in 4.56 gears on a Dana 35.

Don't waste any money on the D Turdy Five go with an 97 up Chy 8.25 29 spline. It is a direct swap no fab work needed. Then buy you 4.56 gears and lockers.

You'll need the axle, driveshaft and u-bolt plates too. Get new u-bolts, never re-use 'em from a JY donor.

I am going to do the ford 8.8 31 spline rear axle swap for my XJ but not sure if installing 4.51 gearing will work. Any idea?

I welded my 35 it lasted that way for a couple years. Was still going when I swapped to 3.55 gears in a 8.25. Welded the 27spline 8.25 and broke an axle then got 29spline carrier and axles from junk yard and welded it to.
running a grizzly locker in the front it the 30 shafts are proving un reliable on technical trails.. I'm also tearing sidewalls out of nearly new tires.. ugh
