4.5" lift w/ transfer case drop
If I go with a 4.5" lift and it comes with a transfer case drop do I still need a longer drive shaft or with the drop will that make up the difference? Thanks in advance.

The transfer case drop is the alternative to the longer driveshaft/SYE. Some will argue that it isnt one of best alternatives out there, but it will get the job done.
There are a lot of other threads out there discussing this, do a search and you'll see. Some go out wheeling for the first time with this setup and things get messed up. Others have been running the same setup and wheel consistently without a problem.

Sorry I replied before I read the rest of the post. I'll do a search see what is best. I'm not into doing any crazy stuff mainly because it's my DD but I would like to get it up off the ground. I had a 96 with a 4" lift and no sway bars which was my bush runner and that seemed to go anywhere.

i have the RC4.5 x series kit and i used the t-case drop and i got a manual trans crossmember and mine is vibration free. there isnt a huge difference between the manual and auto but i really didnt want to shell out the money for a sye kit and different rear driveshaft

Where the trans mount bolts to the crossmember, on a manual trans crossmember it sits lower than a auto trans crossmember so it gives you a little bit more of a drop to help out with getting rid of vibrations. brookhart63 could be right about putting more stress on the mounts but im yet to have a problem with them.

I've had to replace a driver's side motor mount and a tranny mount running with a t-case drop. I'm about to rebuild my t case and i'm gonna shell out the extra money for a sye. For a dd, a tcase drop probably wouldn't be that bad but i beat on my rig often.
And just to add..i do run a 4.5" with shims and a t case drop without a vibration but i'm still gonna ditch the drop for a sye when i rebuild my 231
