I have a 2000 with an 8" lift with 35's with 355's. I figure my mph's are off by at least 10 at higher speeds, and of course throws off my mileage. Now I know y'all don't believe in the programmers for power and gas mileage. But am wondering about using a programmer for computer purposes as far as changing the tire size and what not. What do y'all recommend I do about that besides change the gears for now. Now when I do end up changing gears what is the best gear to go with, with the Jeep being a DD for the most part and part time wheeler for now.

You don't need to reprogram anything. You need to change the speedometer gear. Read about that here:
http://go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm
And buy a new one here:

If you have an auto tranny, go with 4.88 gears.
If you have a manual tranny, go with 4.56 gears.
As far as where to get gears, there are a couple vendors on this forum that sell then. Contact either Serious Offroad or RWKHausSupply
And if you have an auto tranny, I'd strongly suggest putting in an auxiliary tranny cooler. It'll help your tranny be a little happy until you can regear and make your tranny as happy as can be.
