Serious' should require drilling because you are using larger TRE's. Along with JCR's you can use inserts after drilling or ream the knuckles out.

The dead spot can supposedly be minimizing by clocking the TRE'a away from each other but I'm not a big fan of inverted T.
Actually jcr and serious kits both come with the poly spacers to eliminate the dead spots.

Poly spacers wear out. And with that kind of lift you will need to go with and over the knuckle setup if you go with that style. For that you will need to relocate the Trac bar and it is no longer a bolt on setup. I just picked up the crossover setup from iro and it is pretty nice. Easy to install and very beefy. Maybe look into that if you don't do a knuckle swap. I think crossover steering is the way to go.

Is there anything wrong/detrimental if I go with the Serious/JCR kit? I see a lot of people are recommending a cross over steering kit based on the lift height, but I am not trying to blow thousands/time to weld knuckles and what not. Jeep stops fine for me as I do not bump draft in the Jeep lol.

What is a dead spot exactly when talking about steering?

Nothing wrong. They are solid kits. You will just need to relocate the trac bar over the axle.

With some steering setups, there will be a small amount of steering wheel play where the tie rod end rolls back and forth and doesn't actually move the wheels. Not always a deal breaker. Some people don't mind it but the steering is not as tight as it could be.

I understand what under/ over the knuckle is. When someone refers to it as a "high steer" kit I'm assuming they mean over the knuckle? What about "crossover" what exactly does that mean?

at 7.5" of lift, you need some sort of high steer or your jeep will drive like **** and be generally unsafe. idk why people think they can just bolt on enormous lifts and tires and then dick around with inadequate supporting mods.

i run crossover at around 6.5" of lift... but i have a D44 front. you should be picking up the parts to run the WJ setup. with 35s, stock brakes are borderline dangerous IMHO and you NEED some sort of high steering knuckle to have the correct steering geometry.

crossover is a "type" of high steer, and the tie rod and drag link are NOT connected. generally when people say high steer they are talking about an inverted T setup (like JCR for example) on high steer arms.

crossover

high steer

its not hard. you weld a new bracket on and make a new trackbar. however if you cant weld and dont have friends who do, i can see that being an issue.

My opinion would be iron rock offroad or FST, If you was to go with a over the knuckle steering kit.

1. there is a reason so many recommend cross over type steering - its the best solution for many reasons.....safety and bonus of brake upgrade are the biggest

2. you wouldnt spend thousands.....hundreds yes and less than "kits" out there if you do the WJ swap

3. its not really that hard to gather the parts and you can get the knuckles welded up with the spacer for very cheap

4. No offense to JCR offroad, Serious or anyone else selling the type of kit that needs poly spacer but that is *****....its a band-ad fix and who wants to keep replacing a spacer every so often that inevitably would need to be replaced time after time forever since the design is poor compared to other options anyway.

4. i did the swap when i installed a hp front end, i have a list of everything needed in an excel spreasheet with pricing and sources. I can send it to you if wanted
