Default 33x12.5x15 too wide for my 4.5 in lift on my 01 sport?

I just ordered these tires and got them in today and they seem really wide for my cherokee. I know this is probably a newbie question but i just got my cherokee yesterday and I'm looking to lift it. I'm getting a 4.5 in lift regardless, but is there a better width tire? What are most people running with a 4.5 in lift? I will be getting a long arm kit in the future as well. Thanks for your input.

your offest on the wheels will tell how far your tires stick out. also you will need after market wheels or wheel spacers to run the wider tires and not run into rubbing.

Gotcha, I'll have to look into the correct spacing. I'm gonna have to use the factory 5 spoke wheels for now, so I'm assuming they're not gonna work.

I wish I could get long arms first but on a slight budget and can afford a short arm lift with tires cause I'm anxious to get out and wheel. Later when I upgrade I'll just sell what I take off in place of the long arm kit.

===========================================

I used factory CANYON wheels on my rig.
The 33 x 12.50 x 15s I have on fit perfectly under the stock flares.

See for yourself.

Generally you do not want to run a 12.5" tire on a wheel less than 8" wide....FYI

A 4.5" short arm lift is going to ride like crap. What lift company were you thinking?

4.5 short arm is fine... ride quality is determined by what brand lift... shocks, springs etc.

I have, it was a RE 3.5 kit with a 1" spacer. It was a brick on wheels, then again it also had driveline earthquakes and terrible gearing. Sorry, 4.5 is about as high as you can go with short arms before it rides like crap. Ill stop talking now.

RE is called EXTREME DUTY for a reason. Not a bad kit, just not designed for comfort... lol
