33x10.5x15r toyo open country?
thought id start one more thread before ordering my tires
i had started a thread about 33x10 M16's because i thought BFG and interco wr the only company to make a 33x10 but iv come to find out the toyo MT also comes in that size and for a set of -4- its about $400 cheaper -
any thoughts on these?
this will be a DD and see only about 15% offroad but the trails around here tend to be a good mix of mud and sand. i dont hit the deep gooey mud if i can avoid it but dont want an AT, iv got that now and want something more aggrasive.

I had these on my f350 tow rig, they lady quit a while on street, good handling, quiet too. in the sand they are the best, we go to the dunes alot and I would never even air down, unless I had to pull someone out lol. IMO one the best tires you can buy

Id vote KM2s. Ive never personally ran the Toyos but I have ran 3 different sets of KM2s. Good on the street (great life) and pretty darn good on the rocks.

the toyos are a damn good tire on road and off. never seen that size in action but a few other sizes and they do well. the larger (35,37) sizes seem a bit stiff but i doubt you'll have that issue on a 33x10.5

Toyo's are significantly heavier than other brands. So expect more power and mpg loss. If you go with a 16 rim you have a few more options like maxxis bighorns. In sizes like 285 75 16 (33 11.5) 255 85 16 (33.3 10.5).km2s and big horns are cheaper in these sizes and more brands offer these sizes. If you go with a 305 70 16(33 12.5) they jump up in price $40 more a tire on average.

I had some Toyo MTs on my truck once. Great tires on the road, but I sold them after my first wheeling trip with them. I wasn't impressed with their offroad performance at all.
I'd go with the KM2 over the Toyo any day, unless it's strictly a street driven vehicle.

The Toyos are some of the best out there for a on-off road rig, great road manners and they are about as good as it gets in rocks and snow after the sidewalls get broke in.
They have heavy sidewalls that will take lots of abuse, but will take awhile before they'll flex like lighter duty tires.

hate to ask this question then cuz its like asking favorite color -
toyo MT vs. BFG MT vs. Interco M16 - all on 15" rim - all in a 33x10 - what tire to go with? and i dont want to hear i like brand X cuz i have it - i like it when someone actually states iv had both but X brand is smoother riding and such.
My main concern is a good wet weather tire (no hydro plane), great wear, good in sand and mud, and quiet. iv heard BFG's get noisie and no sipes they tend to wear quick and hydroplane - but some guess on here say other wise. iv hydro planed before with a mud tire and DO NOT want to do that again - but im also tight with my money and want a good lasting all around tire. the only rocks i will see are north GA maybe once a year, the rest of the time is sand, mud, and hard pack dirt.

Well if you run a mud tire they are gonna make noise simple but not a km2 fan and fri what I have seen don't do very well (just my opinion) but a few guys run them and like them I like my Toyota but my rig sees mostly rocks and Im going for pit bulls now but Toyota are a great tire

I love my KM2's, on and off road. However.. of the tires you listed i guarantee you the Toyo's will last the longest. Alot of diesel guys run them because they hold up well to the extra weight and still last forever.

I have KM2s now, and I like everything about them except for the sidewalls. I cut a gash about 5 inches long in one of the sidewalls the first time I had them in the rocks, I know it can happen sometimes, but I wasn't even in what I would call that bad of an area.
My Toyos were great lasted a long time took massive amounts of abuse and were really quiet on the road.
My next set I'll be going back to Toyos.
