Yes you can, and they will be fine. My buddy runs 35x12.50's on a 15x7 rim. They work good. The only problem you will have is if they are the stock rims, the backspacing is not ideal and they might rub on the LCA's. Ford explorer/ranger rims have a really nice backspacing and they are 15x7's

i was told that if u run 33x12.5 on 15x7 your in a high risk of the bead popping out when your on the trails and when their aired down for traction. at least a 8" wide rim and proper backspacing is needed. but im no expert, gotta do with what you got, i say go for it and hope for the best.

x2 i would be afraid to pop a bead, if you're spending the money on a lift and tires might as well spend the extra 2 hundred or so and do it right, if you pop a bead you'll definitely be wishing you did it right

Ideally rim width should be 3"-4" narrower than your tires width. 7" will work but you definitely won't be able to air down as far as you could on a 8" rim. & likewise a 12.5 tire on a 12" wide rim won't be able to air down as far either. Being able to air down to 8-10lbs is WAY worth the extra $$$ for rims!25-30lb compared to 8-10lbs is a street tread & a swamper in comparison imo.

Where do you guys get this stuff from?!?! You are more likely to pop a bead off with a wider rim not a narrower one.

With a narrower rim, you can run less PSI. I know a few guys running 15x6 rims.

Rubbing would be a product of off-set not wheel width.

well it's safe top assume that a person buying wheels wouldn't buy 7s but you are right.. a stock rim you will have issues

Kinda depends what tire your going to run I guess but most people wouldn't. I actually do run 7" wide Outlaws, partly due to the fact that I run Q78's (which are close to 35.5 x 10.50). Also like the 7's because I get more rim protection from the tire being sucked in.
