33" tires and 4.56:1 gears. What about speedo?
Okay with my lift I am going from stock 225/75 to 33" tires and from a 3.55:1 ring and pinion to either a 4.11:1 or a 4.56:1 (haven't decided). My question here is since I am re gearing the differentials (4.11:1 seems to be closest to stock) will my speedo gear still need replacing to be correct?

Not sure the tooth number on the stock gear is, but here is the chart. I wouldn't base what gears to put in by what speedo gear you'll need. That's the cheapest part.... 4.56 in my 01 XJ w/33's is awesome. Feels like stock.....

When I ran 33s with 4.56s my speedo was almost dead on with the stock speedo gear. Depends on the tire. Not all 33s actually measure 33".

My understanding is that with 33" tires and 4.56 gears it should put you really close to stock and you shouldn't have to change the speedo gear.

Yes you do need to change to gear as the speedometer does not register correctly, been there and went that route. Easy and cheapest part of the upgrade as I recall mine was at least 5mph off and maybe a little more using GPS to check. For so little money why not have the speedometer read correctly.

4.56 for 33's is the way to go...
Same Setup, never bothered with changing the speedo gear. For the money I think it's worth it.
