Default 3" long arm

Are there any long arm kits that will work with 3 inches of lift?

I googled it, but I couldn't find any kits that said they would work with 3 inch lift. The top results were abunch of threads saying that it wouldn't work because it would hit the frame rails. Thank you for posting the link up and do you know if anyone offers just the upgrade to long arm? I ask because I recently (few months ago) bought a 3 inch lift. Or do you think it's best to just start from scratch again?

If you would go to 4 1/2" there are a lot more to choose from, that was the reason I went from 3" to 4 1/2" lift was for a long arm kit next year. There were just not enough to choose from at 3" and the extra 1 1/2" of travel is desirable.

I would go 4 1/2 but I really like where is sits now at 3. Also, I just bought brand new 31" bfg a/ts and I don't want to run a 4 1/2 lift with 31" tires, just got it looking the way I wanted... But I do appreciate the input

I did the same thing, but later added a spacer to make it 4" and put the Serious Offroad long arm upgrade on (and went to 33's).
Couldn't be happier and it still doesn't look tall unless you park it next to a stock XJ. I forgot how low these things were...

Lowest we have ran our 3 link kit is around 4" of lift and there are no clearance issues. I cannot see why an inch lower wouldn't clear.

Check it out!

Any kit that is designed for 4" lift minimum will push your axle forward and potentially create steering geometry issues including incorrect caster.

1" can and does make a difference.

Been there, done that....got the teeshirt.

My advice, mid arm. At that height a long arm can cause more problems than solve. Mid arm will give you the droop and control arm angle you want but not become a dragging point or frame hitting on the up travel.

can't see how this is anything but beneficial? front axle stretch, uppers are hopefully adjustable so you can fix the caster. control arms are damn near as flat as possible. whichever company you go with, just call them and ask if you can/should run it at 3" of lift. if not, call another company or raise your jeep up to 3.5". a couple of companies advertise long arms that are made for 3.5" lifts. (TNT, full traction). I know 1" does make a difference but I'd like to see the math on the actual distance in axle stretch due to 1" higher lift. I'd wager it's marginal..

I say go for it. if your steering starts acting up then get a crossover set up as your next upgrade. whatever wonky geometry is caused by your axle being closer to your pitman should be fixed by this, or at least very well masked.

a mid arm 3 link is sweet. only problem is not everyone can fabricate one of these (hopefully the aftermarket notices a need for these and starts manufacturing). it's a great route to go for lower lift heights

That's what I'm waiting for ! But I'll probably just go up 1" so I don't have to wait

Ive been wondering the same thing. Everyone says you dont need long arms at 3" blah blah blah but looking at how steep my aftermarket lcas are i want flat arms and all that articulation. I dont want to go higher. I have zero vibes with no sye or tcase drop and id like to stay that way. What i dont understand is with the made to order kits, why cant they just make the arms that fractional amount shorter? Has anyone actually done the math and looked at how much further your axle would be pushed forward? Is it even an issue if i already have crossover steering? Track bar issue maybe?
