Default 3 link on factory short arms.

Anyone ever removed the passenger side upper to 3 link they're xj with short arms?

I've got a iro joint to run in the upper link. Thinking about hacking passenger side upper control bracket off the axle to fab a truss should I put the bracket back on the truss?

I also have stuff to make a upper control with a 7/8" heim.

Is my thinking way outa line or will it be a no go.

Thanks for any feedback

I removed my drivers side upper. I installed a truss. My upper control arm is a JKS with 1/2" bolts. Upper and lower body side mounts have been reinforced. I have a Ballistic fab joint on the upper axle side and replaced the factory style joint on the JKS control arm with a Ballistic joint as well. I think it does well for a short arm three link.

I did the passenger side because I wanted to raise the control arm mounts on the axle to keep the control arms from getting to steep of an angle. This was easier to do on the passenger side upper. Welding to cast on the drivers side is not easy.

Sweet I like it.
I noticed link separation at axle is 8.5 frame sides ,7 upper ink is flatter thatd what first caught my eye. .
I'm thinking about raising just lowers so links are parallel.

Here mine. Working on this to swap in.
thinking on truss running low on 1/4" plate. But did find a long chunk of 2x8x3/16 left over from sliders.

My current cad axle.

I like your lower control arm brackets. Think you talked me into fabbing my own and raised 1.5" thank you
that's pretty damn slick how your shock mounts tied into control arm bracket. What coil brackets are those they almost look factory but I dont thnk they are.
I think I'm running alittle less lift the you
Has your track bar made contact with the oil pan it might not if your over 3" lift. I'm alittle under and my track just touches the pan at full passenger side stuff.

yes this is kinda stuff I after.

Thanks. Your axle is coming along nicely. I decided to raise all my axle side mounts equally to keep the suspension geometry the same. Coil brackets are stock. I'm at 4 1/2" ish. I use the JKS bump stop spacers on the axle side and Timbren active off road bump stops for a TJ in place of the stock bump stops. That keeps the track bar out of the oil pan for me. If you visit my profile page, you will find lots of pic in the photo album part. I will add some new ones to update. Keep jeepin.

Bracket drawn up.
this will put lower nearly like it was at factory ride height.

I have one side on. It did not go like my scribbles wanted it to. Had to drill another set of holes.
Still not sure how shock with mount. Might have to use control arm bolt to anchor shock bracket.

No benifit to making arms flatter
that's almost like saying theres no benifit to long arms or a properly set up steering..

Should ride better flex better feel better maybe be able to run faster in the rough stuff.
Though it may not be as stable since link separation is less.

I have a slightly raised and a more raised position in my bracket. So I can tune alittle.

When if I do do longer arms theyl be flatter. Will actually be pretty flat since I'm on less than 3" of lift and have a 1.5" raised position. wich putts lower links dmn near t factory and upper parrel to them. Instead of 4deg difference.
hopefully when if I do longer arms I can make 7" of link separation on the frame side.

Like how I talk myself into raising arms as being good thing. Maybe it's just waisted effort for no gain

I'm just saying 3 link on short arms. 3 link vs 4 link has little to no difference except one less support so weaker by default. I like the high clearance lca brackets. I tried to do that with TNT brackets but they hit the coil brackets I also bought from them so they hang down slightly higher than stock.

Yeah. Not sure raised arms clear coil/shock mount bracket.

getting closer to having brackets on. Measure measure and measure again. brackets are about 1/8" off. I haven't burned drivers side in yet.
I will it's close enough.

I'm excited to see how much if any difference it's made. Upper holes actually closer to 2" raised

If you count labor I stopped saving years ago.
I've always had mre time than money.

Heres few currents.

I don't mind having things that otheres can never buy am proud to say I built it when asked where I bought it.

Gladiator arms compared to stock. Debating using them for midarms since i have them along with the fox 2.0 ifp shocks that are on the factory gladiators. What xj runs 2019 jeep parts? Mine how? Cause i built it it.
