Default 3 inch lift with driveshaft vibes??

Hey all,
After much frustration and curse words, my 3 inch RC series II kit is finally all hooked up in my 00. Sits nice! However, I'm noticing some obvious driveshaft vibration when I'm going up hill and what almost sounds like a grinding noise right when my foot just touches or just leaves the throttle. I'm guessing this isn't just something that gets broken in, so do I really need to drop my t-case with a 3 inch lift on stock wheels? Thanks!

Yes. Tcase drop should fix it.

It just sucks, I only went 3 so I wouldn't have to drop my transfer case. But I'm learning now nothing is ever that easy. Thanks!

A tcase drop is only a bandaid for the real problem, which is the stock driveshaft, if you have $200 buy the hack and tap SYE and refurbished driveshaft from Iron Rock Offroad. It's the cheapest way to solve the problem in the correct way. Install is easy.

I had the same issue and jumped at the opportunity when a local guy had one up on Craigslist, installed and it works like it did the day I bought it.

I did a 3" lift on my '97 XJ and had to do a TC drop. I'm gonna do an SYE + Driveshaft eventually since I'll want to go bigger sooner than later.

Definitely post up on how it goes. Maybe even some pics. I'm looking at doing this eventually.

Get a front end alignment and have them set the caster. A simple caster adjustment was all mine needed to get rid of the vibration that was actually coming from the front, didn't realize that until I had the caster changed. It's a cheap fix to make sure that isn't the issue.

I did the same lift on my 2000 and had vibration also. I think the grinding noise is the slip yoke(the slop in the splines when the driveline is no under load). I put 2.5 degree shims under rear springs and it helped but should have gone to 4 degree shims. I am also dropping t case soon until I have enough pennies to get SYE and new driveline. I love the lift so far,no issues. I went in for alignment and it was still within specs also.

Just do a tcase drop. It should reduce vibes drastically. I did all of this tried shims, didn't work, tried different shims, didn't work, started to get mad, finally did a tcase drop, no vibes. Id start with the drop, if that doesn't work the hackntap from iro.

So you think I should wait a while for everything to settle in before I start replacing stuff? And how much damage should I expect to be doing with those noises?
