Default 2wd + conversion or look out for 4wd?

I'm looking for a 2door late model with 5 speed and 4wd. I found one that has all the boxes ticked except the 4wd. If I find a junker 4x4 that will likely be auto, will all the components fit the 2wd or are the extension housings different between a manual & auto?

Honestly id look hard for the jeep you want,Or find a 2 door 4x4 auto and later swap in the stick out of a 4x4 jeep.

Yea I'm leaning towards that too. I'm not in too big a hurry at the moment anyways.

Plus if you buy a auto and swap in a stick youll have better gear ratios too.The auto is 3.55 while the stick is a 3.07 if its a 4.0.Aslo depends a lot where you live how easy or hard its gonna be to find it.Here most 2 doors are 2wd 4 cylinder sticks and a lot of xjs are rusted out bad here.
