Default 242 SYE - 2000 classic

Anyone know where I can get the Yoke for the 242 hack and tap for cheap? Already have the slip joint shaft. Im seeing ironrock sells the yoke, but for $119. Kinda pricey. Also see RE selling the flange for $100. But just curious if there is a better, cheaper way for my 2000?

Any Advise?

You need more then just the yoke... call iron rock and buy the hack n tap and request it without the rebuilt shaft...

I have a rebuilt front DS, the tap and drill bit. I actually bought it from USMCJeeper. He was supposed to ship a yoke with it and failed to follow through on that. So All I need is the yoke that will work with the tail shaft, on a late model 242 once I hack it.

My question is if there is a cheaper yoke out there that will work, say from another car or another XJ? USMCJeeper told me to try to find one from an Cryco 8.25 at the junk yard that mats up. Otherwise, is RC and Ironrock the only options for the late model NP242?

the yoke coming out of the transfercase is not gonna be findable... only two companys can get them and they wont tell anyone... you still need the tail end of the transfer case that seals this... there is a seal kit that comes with everything as well... people have been searching for years to find that yoke so best of luck...

Ironrock is the way to go for the 242, best bang for the buck!

Great price with free shipping.

I know he is a vendor on some forums and provides an additional 10% off.

That seems to be a pretty good deal, although I think I'd like a bolt with a little more sholder on it.

Keep in mind the OP has a late model transfer case with the external slip yoke, no need for a tail cone or seal. I did find another source for just the yoke but they wanted $119 and probably more for shipping. Link above seems like the best deal I've seen so far.
