Default 2001 xj bogging down after fuel tank upgrade

2001 Jeep xj bogging down under acceleration after fuel tank upgrade.

I installed the 30.5gal tank from GenRight off road, replacing the stock plastic tank. It was a direct swap, bolted in place just fine. Fuel pump fit right in, no issues.

Now when I press the accelerator pedal beyond 20% or so, it feels like I hit a wall. Engine bogs down, rpms tank. I have no idea what's going on.

Seems like something funny with the fuel lines or pump, I have to let the fuel pump do its thing a few times before it will start. Like the fuel lines aren't keeping pressure when it is not running.

Any help is appreciated.

After install did you disconnect battery for a few minutes and then re connect because the Computer if like mine doesn't like new things unless you do that. Worth a try.

Did you replace the pump or filter when you did the swap?

Is it pulling any check engine codes when it bogs down?

Whats the condition of the inside of your throttle body/iac dirty caked with grim/clean?

Rather then guessing you might want to hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see what's going on when it's doing all this bad stuff
sounds like the fuel pressure is low or leaking down but some actual diagnostics will help
