Fuel pump stopper in a non-OEM tank

Fuel pump stopper in a non-OEM tank
Hey!
Bought a fuel tank from jeep4x4center and it looked good and all that, except on the fuel pump it has a rubber stopper that, I guess is supposed to hold it level when the pump is in the tank.
In my old rusty fuel tank it has a bump where I guess the stopper can rest on, but the new tank doesn't. Won't that put a strain on the wired etc connecting the pump?

Nobody? Can't find any info on this and kinda hard to get a feel if the stopper actually touches the bottom of the tank....doubt it'll be good for the pump and all just to be hanging..
