Default 2000 ECU in 2001 XJ

Rebuilding my 2001 Auto XJ, putting a 5 speed in.
I found a 2000 manual ECU, will it work in a 2001?

Besides the 2000 being from a non CA single cat XJ,,, are there any OTHER conflicts?
is the dash the same? is fuel injection the same?

Thanks,
Slack

Mainly exhaust and O2 sensor wiring that I am aware of.
Cause guessing the '01 is CA Emissions and my understanding is that all are.
Not sure how an automatic or stick are connected to the ECM though.
Cause if they are that means something else is different in a wiring harness.

Dont quote me on because I cant reference this but the off throttle and decel fuel adjustments may be different for the auto to manual ecu.

Is the 2001 a Federal or CA emissions vehicle? Personally I would make sure the ECM matches the driveline you are building. I took a 2000 auto driveline out of a federal emissions vehicle and stuffed it into a CA emissions, so I swapped the ECM as well so it wasn't looking for the extra two O2 sensors. Plus the Jeep I was building had ABS, the donor the entire driveline came from (my wrecked one) did not so I figured I would want to not have the ABS light on all the time. Use and ECM from a Jeep that is the build you are doing, much easier IMO
