Pretty sure it's just a prototype at this point. They were posting about it on their Facebook page

There are a few problems with making 2 door specific.

1. Cost (they will probably be 60% more then 4 door)
2. Sales (how many 2 door owners will want to spend 500+ on them?)
3. Getting a 2 door 97+ and a 2 door 96-

I find it extremely hard to believe that 2ft~ of steel could cost 60% more. Sure you have to roll more steel for the curve. Jcr used to be a great small business.. now they've got poor representation they don't care about the customer that's why they now outsource some of there **** like the otk steering etc.. I'm not here to rant about jcr. I own there rear bumper gas skid stage 3 sliders lower 1/4 guards and will probably be buying there otk inverted t steering soon.

Btw I could name over a dozen friends/ppl on the forums that WOULD pay ~$500 for rear quarters that are 2 dr specific.(assuming they fit nicely and are made right)

I have access to a break a tube bender welder tape measure grinders drills etc. but i cant roll the steel to fit the xj curve. I could mock up some, but for the amount of time and effort it'd take me.. $500 isnt sounding so bad. Could probably pay a local jeep fab shop maybe I will look into that.

First off, we don't outsource anything but tire carrier spindles. And those are made by another US small business like us. In fact I've got an employee machining/assembling steering right now.

Second, material cost of a product is pretty closely linked to how many we can fit on a sheet of steel. The 2 door stuff would be big and awkward shaped, taking up more room on a sheet, harder to bend, package, etc...

Third, we've done this for a long time now and have lost lots of development money on things of this nature. The 4 door stuff isn't flying off the shelf, but it does sell enough to be profitable. The 2 door stuff brings forth a whole set of development challenges. The first of which is finding a clean 96- 2 door to prototype on where the customer wants us to drill into the body (it's still a clean 16+ year old vehicle for a reason.) Finding a 4 door was challenging enough.

If we didn't care about the customer we'd just say "No," to these things (or nothing at all) without explanation and move along.

I hear ya. Sorry for my rant. And thanks for being understanding. I really want/need these that's all and NOBODY is making them for a 2 door. Kinda frustrating :/ I will be looking into making my own but tey probably won't turn out how I'd like them
