i am running 5" in the front and 3" in the back on mine for 33s trimmed the lower part of the fender flares and it will rub a little bit if you flex all the way out. it could very easily be fixed with bump stops...the rear doesn't rub at all.

rc 4.5 will do u good and you will need a t-case drop kit but other than that u will b good o and i would suggest some quick disconnets from fatbobsgarage.com they r like 65 bucks i do believe so you will spend around a 1000 for what i just told u minus the tires

I have an 01 with 33x12.50x15s....I don't rub anywhere on the street, but rocks are a different story, especially up front...trim or bump stop, about the only two options. 97-01 have smaller fender openings, and smaller flares than a 96 and older...this is where I rubbed and folder the fender in, you can see the distortion. This is also where I trimmed, I think they call it the "skyjacker" trim...

Anyway for a DD and 33s do some trimming so you can stay in the 3-4.5" range, if not you have to go higher and that isn't always better.

I did a 3" lift and trimmed for 33s
they fit fine... however I might have trimmed more than I needed
you might want to do 4.5" or so the trimming will be at a minimum

Whats sye? And do I have just trim flares with a 4.5 or both? I would like to keep stock flares on if possible or buy a set of nice ones if I have to trim alot.

you typically do not do both a SYE and a t case drop... I would stretch my front and rear wheel base before I would do that
or even look into high angle sye kits that have high angle u joints and pre clearanced CVs as well as a CRAZY short fixed yoke and a crazy short output shaft

look at where your rear drive shaft goes into the back of the transfer case... there is a yoke that slips in when the axle gets pushed toward the body and out when the axle drops away from the body... a slip yoke eliminator has a fixed out put yoke (no in and out slip) but has a slip point int he middle of the drive shaft... in fact many people use stock front drive shafts in the rear, best part is you only need one spare to get home if your driveshaft breaks
you can trim the fenders and move the stock flares higher up... I saw a guy do this and trim the fenders a little... he runs 33x12.50x16 on 2" lift...
here is an example what what you could do...
