1997 5.2L drivetrain swap into 1997 4.0L XJ?

Engine: 4.0L for now
1997 5.2L drivetrain swap into 1997 4.0L XJ?
The only reason i am considering this swap is cause my 4.0L (222,500 miles) has seen better days and my last time out hurt the motor. I came across a wrecked ZJ 5.2L 4x4 with under 50K miles on it for less than $500. So my question if anyone done this swap? if so or if not what are the challenges of this swap? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

I would just either rebuild your motor or put it a fresh 4.0 replacement because if yours is that tired then just a fresh motor will probably be plenty of improvment and all you need. Or even a properly built stroker that could be putting out more hp and torque than a 318 could ever dream of.
Also, my opinion is that since you are asking questions about how hard it is, that means you probably don't have the mechanical skills/experience/ability to take on such a task (no offense intended, just the way I am thinking).
There is also the transmission thing, I would hope that you don't want a 44re and it would probably be even more of a pain to make a nv3550(? can't remember right now what trans would go with the 5.2) work with the mounts, shifters, and such.
This is just all I can give you being that I would/could not be able to do something like this myself and also haven't researched into this at all since I know at least one person has done it before.

Oh and btw just do it the manly way and put a 5.9 in, not a wimpy 5.2. Haha jk
