Hello all, I find myself on here again asking another question... so I have a 1996 XJ, and I have recently (as in 4 months ago) acquired a major problem. When sitting in idle for more than about 5-10 minutes (depending on temperature outside) the Jeep sounds terrible, stutters, has poor throttle response, and eventually dies. I've looked into this issue thoroughly for the last few months, and have replaced both o2 sensors, tps sensor, map sensor, air filter, new injector o-rings, complete heat shield (manifold, injector, and fuel rail shielding), fuel filter, oil filter, and spark plugs. I am becoming very frustrated with my XJ because I lifted it, and put tires on it just before all of these issues.I would like to not be constantly replacing parts that do nothing. Any help would be appreciated, and once again I have a 1996 XJ 4.0, and if it helps I have a manual transmission.
