1995 jeep cherokee buying advice
hi guys im not sure where to post this so i decided to put it in the xj forum. Sorry if its in the wrong place but i have found a 1995 jeep cherokee 4wd with 142000 miles, it has no/lil rust on the rocker panels or the floor boards. Everything is in working condition except the ac needs some freeon. Its an automatic has a small dent in the left corner oof the bumper. Guy said it was garage kept for 7 years so very lil to no rust on it. Other then that its all good. I will go take a look at it today and would like to know whats a good price to offer to him. He is asking $1900. If i find anything else about it ill post back but i would really like to have a good estimate of how much you guys would pay for one.
thanks
thanks

I would say fair price as well. As long as it's not all Jimmy rigged with upgrades. I'm more than sure it has leaks. Oil filter adapter. it has 3 O rings. Rather cheap easy fix. However it takes a decent amount of time. At least it did for me. Valve cover gasket will probably need to be replaced.
Here is where I'd be a little apprehensive. Also depending on your mechanical skills. TCase, tranny and oil pan may leak. I just hate doing those kind of services. But it's rather common. But don't let it scare you off.
Offer 1700 if you have cash. Take that other 200 and fix the minor issues.
Ask questions.
When was last time it had been serviced.
When were brakes done.
Oil changed
accidents?
What kind of driving did the person do. Gives ya an ideal on how it was driven.
Just make sure you and your passengers will be safe while driving it. Most shops will do a check up on the car to make sure of these kind of things. With that said. I've paid as high as $150 on some vehicles/shops and as low as free. But for the most part, I've paid $100 for that kinda inspection.
Some places will even give you a print out of what needs to be addressed and how much it'll run ya.
If you get this XJ. Congrats and have a blast!
