Any ideas what I should check next? I already checked all the starter relays and fuses but they were all good. I saw some where that the fusible links were known to go bad but I can't seems to find any for the ignition system, where would they be? And should I even waste my time checking them!?!

Yes I went around the fuse box with a test light and was getting power to everything. I even double checked the ignition fuses, is there anything I'm missing?

Transmission linkage possible. Try hitting the shifter while trying to start it.

Also check power to ignition switch on the lower part of the steering column.

Then you've lost a ground connection somewhere.

Would it still have anything to do with the trans shifter if it's a manual?

And I checked the ignition switch on the lower part of the steering column. When I used the test light I was getting power? And specific grounds I should check....? :/

Btw thanks for the help guys, I'm new to cherokee forum I like it already!

No skip the tranny thing. IF you have a manual don't worry about it.

Your head lights do not run off of the ignition switch.

So this tells me your problem is in the ignition switch.

Double check everything. Make sure the switch is actuating when using the key. And power is going to the circuts.

Ok so I originally thought it was the ignition switch and ordered a new one, it came in last night and I put it in this morning....still nothing?

But I was going trough the wires and noticed a purple wire looked like it melted/burnt, but I tested it with the test light and it was still getting power. (I'll post pics later to describe it better)

This is the ignition switch with what looks like som type of burnt wire could this be keeping everything from working, or do you think it's unrelated??

Not to sound stupid but electrical problems really aren't my thing....what does high resistance mean?
