ABS sensor mounting on the 'old' knuckles, that's a new one. My jeeps don't have ABS.
Do you have a pic of the ABS sensor mounting on the 'newer' knuckles?
You might be able to drill a mounting hole on the knuckles to mount the ABS sensor.
You can go to the parts store and check out a Ford Explorer front wheel bearing around '98. I believe it has the same dimensions but has an integral ABS sensor and a wire coming out of the unit bearing.

So what are my options for bigger brakes if I have wj knuckles and crossover steering already. I'm running 17 inch wheels.
Can I run sport track rotors to avoid re-drilling for 5x4.5 bolt pattern?
Is there a better caliper option using wj knuckles?
can I use the mustang rotors and Durango calipers using wj knuckles and a custom braket/caliper spacer?
I'm a machinist so brackets and fab isn't an issue. Just not sure what fits.
THANKS CobraMarty for all the info

Yea, I don't use WJ knuckles. They have their own build and issues.
Easiest for them is sport trac rotors, only 12", and WJ akebono calipers. There are plenty of write ups on how to do this.
You could use the mustang 13.25" rotors and Durango/GC calipers but you will need to make an adapter to bolt all together.
Buy 1 each of- a WJ knuckle, weld on spacer, buy a XJ unit bearing, buy a mustang 13.25" rotor and buy a Durango/GC caliper and pads. Assemble and see what shape and thickness for the adapter. Make adapter out of steel.
'Legos' for adults is all it really is.

I ordered a set of 1/4" WJ knuckle spacers.
I have all the pieces including a WJ knuckle to piece this together. Only then can I look and see what shape the adapter will be needed.
Maybe a 13.25" brake rotor upgrade can become a reality for the WJ conversion guys.
WJ knuckle caliper mounting bolt spacing is 5.15".
The early XJ knuckle and late Durango/GC calipers have a caliper mounting bolt spacing of 5.5".

Just some comparison- 'WJ Big Brake Kit' requires 17" wheels
WJ- Calipers- dual 48mm pistons, 3/8"-24 bleeded, 3/8"-24 port
WJ- Rotors- 12.01", 1.02" thickness, 18 pounds, 5x5", needs redrilling to fit XJ 5x4.5"
'13 GC/Durango Calipers- dual 48mm pistons, 10-1mm bleeder, 10-1mm port, much bigger pads, will need adapters to fit/bolt to knuckle
'11 Mustang Rotors- 13.23", 1.18" thickness, 20.75 pounds, 5x4.5", center hole needs to be opened with dremel to fit XJ wheel hub
Required Adapter- to be determined

WJ Big Brake Update - 13.25" rotors and big dual piston calipers for 17" wheels
Got the WJ knuckles- New Crown parts, and 1/4" spacers.
(from 4 wheel parts- CRO 5011976AB- passenger side with high steer $111.59 and free shipping, CRO 5011977AB- driver side $108.97-on back order)
(spacers from IronMan4x4Fab.com $25.99/pair and free shipping)
Bolted the late 99+ XJ unit bearing (Timken HA597449), spacer and knuckle together.
Forgot that the Mustang center hole needs to be dremeled out slightly, then had to go out of town for work, so will resume next week when I get home.
Next will be to dremel out the center hole of the Mustang rotor an then bolt it on and place the caliper with pads on and see how everything lines up.

Finally had time to bolt this WJ stuff all together.
GC/Durango caliper will not work. Mounting holes are close and overlap somewhat. Could not drill out as it would make hole figure 8 like and be too close to edge of mounting tab for strength. Couldn't make an adapter to make work.
Next gotta find my Mustang calipers and try them.

Problem
Sorry to revive the dinosaur here but I found this post and did the job 17” Big Brake. I didn’t use exact part numbers but I did check fitment.
the problem I’m having is the pads overhang the rotor to the center. As the pad wears eventually the overhang makes contact with the inner rotor and squeals badly. I’ve been looking at the specs and everything I have seems like what’s described.
anyone else have the problem?

I’m running the stock hubs (2000) and I have the 1” spacers to fit the calipers to the knuckles. It’s possible the Huns could’ve been swapped for the older at some point but I don’t see how I’d have this issue.

Sorry I’ve not had a chance lately to pull it apart, I’ll try tomorrow.
Here’s a link to the rotors I used
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/agb-680811per
and a picture I have from when I did it.
I checked the specs against the rotor recommended for the build and they look virtually the same to me. Again the pads sit too low into the rotor and eventually make contact with the inside lip, the black part of the rotor in the picture.
The only thing I can come up with is maybe I got sent the wrong rotors?

I just wanted to add to this that I found an oem caliper bolt that's a m14x1.5x45mm. It's the stock caliper bolt for a '18-'22 Wrangler, Gladiator and some other Mopars.
