Default 01 XJ WHEELS!

Hey everyone, I have a question about some wheels. I have a 01 XJ with a 4.5" lift, SYE, trimmed fenders, and Dana 35 in the rear. I've been looking at a few wheels and tires but not sure what to get.

I want them to stick out the sides a little bit, but prefer to not run any spacers (I've heard bad things about them?) I am not to familiar with the whole wheel offset, positive and negative. I mean I know what it is, but I guess I'm not sure how to size it up right for my jeep. I'm not sure how it will affect the jeep, I've heard some offsets can be bad for suspension, brakes, turning radius, death wobble, etc.

Here is a few a few pictures of what I'd like to get (the camo XJ's) and mine is the Red XJ in the garage. (Soon to be painted camo also once I get new wheels, and a new front and rear drive shaft)

Open to all thoughts and opinions haha.

Thank You.

I run 1 1/4 spacers on 31 's and stock wheels for several hundred thousand miles now between both jeeps...Never had an issue with coming loose or anything like that..BUT I do not OFFROAD

Stock wheels have 5-1/4" of off-set to work in narrow wheel-wells - 4" offset wheels will space your wheels out - but they WILL rub on the trail without cutting the fenders (looks like you've already done this) and any gravel on the road or trail will strike your body. However, less offset will widen the track 2-1/2" which assists stability on rigs with tall lefts and tall tires. As Blue Jeep above demonstrates, spacers work on modest or no lifts with modest tires

For the record...didn't mention I have approx 3 inch lift in front and 4 ish in the back. The wheels you see now were not originals, not sure where I got them, or what they came off, but I think they were exactly same as my factory alloys

Thank you for you're reply.

Question, I currently get death wobble after 60mph, Do you think 3.75 BS on some 33x12.50x15 and 15x8 B/S of 3.75 would be a bad choice? (Going to tackle the death wobble issue onceand for all, I think its got to be trac bar or steering box but need to wheels first to test drive, etc)

Thanks, I am not wanting to run spacers, I do go on trails often and take it out all the time when it snows and drift around, I've just heard negative things about spacers.

Appreciate it tho.

The more they stick out the wider you'll have get the fender extensions. You've got suspension problems if you have death wobble check the entire suspension - something or - if it's wore out, several things has/have play in it
