hi all

not really a techi with pc's but thought i'd try find a forum with jeep owners on it.
I've bought my first ever jeep i.e cherokee 2.5 CRD Sport, love the drive, but only noticed once i'd bought the bugger that the mirrors don't move when trying to adjust with rocker switch, and also they will not retract when i want to fold them in.

Anyone got any ideas ? i'm waiting for haynes liberty manual to arrive but thought i'd try here.

My XJ got Mopar slush mats all around, an Infinity Basslink subwoofer (both of those were early presents), and will soon be getting an oil and coolant change.

I'm also going to try to fix my water leak!

Hello from sunny ??? Devon!

Had my 2000, TD for a couple of months now and loving it,
Built a rack for it fitted some (cheap but a lot better than standard) lights up top, collecting some bits and bobs so I can get some green lanes in this year

Just waiting on some new rear springs as her backends lower then me nan's...

Everyone had a good new year I trust?

Greetings all from a gloomy Portsmouth !
My xj got an unexpected gift for christmas !
Decided to visit family for the jollidays and thought it a good plan to drive to the Midlands early christmas day as it would be quiet. Got within 35 miles of destination and noticed "check engine"light had come on...soon saw temp guage at max! Pulled over onto hard shoulder(the cloud of steam was impressive)and found the fan belt laying on top of the engine. The RAC turned up an eternity later and confirmed the worse....bearings had collapsed in the water pump! Arrived at destination on back of tow truck, that set the neighbours curtains twitching, crap on tv I guess...Got new water pump a couple of days later and had it fitted, happy christmas Cherokee, duh!
All well again now and next thing to do is retro fit an overhead console...assuming I can find somewhere that will take on the task...

I'm in Bridgerule nr Bude - floods at least 6 times a year so the jeep comes in well handy.

Whats it like for lanes down your way?

Another addition here from Montrose in bonny Scotland. My 1996 4.0 ZJ gave up the ghost just before christmas in the the heavy rain. After much investigation it looks like the CPS has died, so new one ordered. This Jeep has got me through 4 bad winters without a squeak, plus plenty offroad action, but I fear that the MOT, due the end of this month, will be the nail in the coffin for this old girl. Air bag broken, ABS broken, handbrake broken, exhaust manifold cracked, oil leaks everywhere, plus long term rust infestation and various other electrical gremlins. This girl has had a hard life and now it is time to retire her. I'll keep her going to the end of the month.

Never mind, just bought a 2005 WK 3.0 CRD to replace her, so the old girl can take it easy. Dont know what to do with the ZJ yet - sell/fix/strip/scrap - depends on how long I can manage to keep it on the drive before my wife starts complaining!!
