Yet another MPG issue sadly
So a couple months ago I swapped out my injectors to ford 19s to try and push some more mpgs out, before this I got about 265 miles a tank with my lift and tires and then with the new injectors only got about 235 so I changed them back to stock. I reset the ECM both times and don't see any leaks in the injectors and have new o rings for the ones that were leaking when I first put them back in. I just did a tune up that consisted of oil (10w 30 and lucas), oil filter (wix), valve cover gasket (fel-pro) and spark plugs (Champion copper 0.35) with a Lucas tune up in a bottle and filled the tank. Since then I have went light wheeling but in part time and not for long but either way I have only gotten 105 miles to half a tank, I get about 100 miles in the first quarter then the second quarter just goes right out the tank like nothing. I live in a rural area with highway and back roads. She used to get about 60-70 miles per quarter. When I put the original injectors back in there was a slight leak on top of one of them but after twisting it the leak stopped, and I smelt gas for a day or two after that inside but after it disappeared I just took it as gas that didn't evaporate in some grease or something. Is it possible that there is an vapor leak in that injector top causing the computer to put more gas in the engine? I have seen someone on here post how they went from 16 mpg in the summer to 12 now so i'm not sure if I should take this as a mechanical problem or a natural occurrence. I wasn't as **** about my mpgs when I was in high school and didn't bring my jeep to college last year so I can't compare it to other years without the lift.

During the summer when i made my first trip to school (289 miles) I still had a quarter tank left when I got there all parkway with cruise control and last time I drove there in November I had to fill up 30 minutes out though it defiantly was much much windier than the summer still something to keep in the back on my mind

When was the last time you changed your o2 sensor it is important that you put a fresh one in there if you have not... Just because it does not throw a check engine light does not mean it can not be bad... Hope this helps

I guess i over reacted with the whole thing lol I'm averaging 14mpg so it's not bad for the winter, i was just worried since I messed with my injectors around the time winter and it's gas came so I just kept thinking my injectors messed me up

88' with 31s and I believe 3.73 gears. I've never done over 20 mpg unless I was driving to school (300 miles) all turnpike

You guys suck. I get 12 to 14... stock... driving like a grandma. But I have a pretty cracked exhaust mani. and probably a fouled o2 sensor because of it. Can't wait for taxes.
