Default Is this XJ worth the money?

Ok so a few days back i found a 1998 Jeep Cherokee 2-Door 4x4 for $3,500, its got power windows locks, cruise control, AC that actually works, Cd and all that, it also has the offroad pakage with the skid plates, tow hooks and Trac-Lok posi (test drove it and found out lol) althought its sadly automatic i can forgive that to the fact that its a 2-door. Its also got a brand new exhaust and tires, the tires a Wranglers and i forget the size but there bigger and better lol The same rims my jeep used to have and its got this weird metalic silver paint all the way around the underbody? Its got 172,000 miles but it seems like its got alittle life left in it...not much though, no knocking or ticking though. Anyway im just crossed on the whole thing because this winter my brother has to take my car for something to drive in the winter and it leaves me with nothing to drive at all, but it also means ill have to take out another loan to get this one, i just wanted to know if its worth the money, Its also from PA so it doesnt have much rust but the rockers are probably going to need to be replaced sometime in the future....anyway i was just hoping to get some proffesional opnions here because i really need some, if you guys want to see it ill post some pics in my album, any imput is really appreciated, thanks guys

Maybe none of my business but why does your brother have to take your car, and leave you with nothing to drive, and thus making you have to buy another xj and take out a loan on top of that I think that b.sAlso thats a wee bit high for a 1998,If its in really good shape overall I would say 2200.-2500 but your area could run a bit more price wise. good luck

If it's in as good of condition as your describing it, see if you can get them down to 3,000$. In PA, cars are known to rust, but if this one has little to none, I'd be all over it.

Let your brother take out a loan and get his own car.

Yeah guys i think its bs to i agree but i dont have much a choice in it since what my mother says goes . Anyway i dunno im thinking about passing on it, the engine doesnt have much left in it and you can tell when you punch it, but i guess theres upsides to it. Not many but there are some, well guys i do apperciate the advice and i think im going to take it and just forget about the thing, if anyone spots a 5-speed 2-door 4x4 for a better price dont be afriad to let me know? Its hard as hell to find a cherokee around here thats not in pieces due to NY being such pains in the @ss for salting roads as much as they do
