I'm actually in ct and that's average price. Anything cheaper usually has over 200k and not leather. I've seen many Cherokees around with no rockers and the rest of the underside is ok. From my experience the rear around bumper brackets and the area where the filler tube for the gas tank passes through the frame go first. And where the hitch bolts on. Oh, and under the rear bumper corners.

 

Would have rolled mine into the ocean if I'd seen this two weeks ago.

Agreed. Also Floridian, say 1800 sounds about right. Prob 1500 if done right. Think this just proves that we cannot agree because it all depends on location. I would still shop, and with shopping compare prices and condition and see if it's the right price.

 

Look on CL out of state. Somewhere south. With no snow. Set up a few appointments. Road trip it down with a bud. Bring tools. Drive it back.

Pay less. Get a rust free southern jeep. Sell it for more than you paid in 5 years.

 

Nope.... $1200-$1500 for an XJ - Can buy a Grand Cherokee for less miles, more options for that kind of money.. Keep looking..

 

Why is this opinion poll in tech?

 

I would keep looking, but keep that one on the table. Make a list of all the XJ you come across that are of interest, and weigh the pros and cons of each. Ask yourself what you are willing to work with and what you are not, or cannot. Doing this led me to the 97 i have now, and has been worth every penny.

 

i think its a little high with that rust. can find a lot cleaners ones here in jersey

 

paint work done on atleast the door and fresh black paint/under coat under it. no thank you. there are better out there..



that decal was masked off. at minimum that door was painted.. who knows what else was..






and that fresh black pain/undercoat.. whats it hiding??
