Hi all, looking for some direction. I have a lead on a 1988 XJ Wagoneer Limited Woody. 152k miles, owner says it runs, but currently doesn't start with key, they messed with the wiring. Old guys wants $4500, I said best Kelly blue book value I can find is $981 - what do you guys think the value is?
$4500 if he doesn't need to sell it lol, but seriously if it's not all rusted out no one is going to sell it for blue book value. The price on clean old XJs is going to continue to go up the more rare they become.
1200 tops. But any jeep is worth what someone is willing to pay. I got my 2 door sport for $600 and drove it 250 Miles Home.
no rust, completely stock with original saggy leads and Coils with 225,000 miles and working AC. So no i wouldn't pay more than $1200 for one that does not start and has a basket wiring case. Especially on one that probably has a vacuum disconnect front axle. Which I believe is common for this year and model.
Now that I have read my own post... I wouldn't buy this one. Maybe for 500.... Or 650... Purchased $600 3 Inch Skyjacker kit $380 Goodyear Wranglers $279 Amazon Offroad 4 Inch light pods $20 Total Investment= $1280
vacuum disco axle is easy to fix, mod, or swap. 1 hour install for the cable mod. My 87 has the cable mod. ignition cylinders are about 20$ if you figure out the wires. That being said the value of these woodys to me is the trim and interior. if that stuff is busted then its just a normal cherokee. 1000 tops.
