Default XJ Wont fire....help

I have a 98 xj cherokee sport 4.0 L which i have just put a recon. transmission in and now the vehicle wont start it has fuel but wont fire, can anyone give me some suggestion please, wondering if it needs a code or something very hard to get any information in Australia

You didn't have to make two threads, but as I said in the other check the cps on the bell housing

Here's I'll post it everywhere so you'll see it.

Go stand on the drivers side with the hood up, shine a flash light between the very back of the intake manifold and the firewall. Look at the top of the bell housing and you'll see a small sensor with 2 bolts holding it in place. That's the CPS. It'll have a harness coming from it and should plug in on top of the intake manifold.

I BET it's either not plugged in or the mechanic didn't swap your original one onto the new transmission.

This sensor tells the coils when to fire. The Jeep will not run without it.

There IS a problem with that sensor. (You need a new mechanic.)
